In December 2017, China’s car ownership reached 217 million, ranking the country as the 2nd largest worldwide. Private cars accounted for 78% of vehicles, with a total of 170 million on the streets.

There were around 350 million car repairs and 4.5 million auto rescues in 2017, with an output value of 700 to 750 billion RMB. By 2020, the value of China’s automotive aftermarket segment is estimated to reach USD 214 billion, driven mainly by repair and maintenance services.
In 2016, there were 2,768 automotive test stations in China, and a rapid growth rate of 9.7% with over 26 million test car.
