AMR 2027 set to showcase evolving aftermarket outlook, serving as a platform for industry exchange and innovation

17 Aug 2026

The 75th edition of the Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo (AMR) will return to the Capital International Exhibition & Convention Center in Beijing from 10 to 12 March 2027. For over 40 years, the show has connected the automotive aftermarket service sector, bringing together advanced technologies, products and solutions. This edition will present the evolution of the aftermarket, including advancements in the maintenance and repair industry, smart logistics and electric commercial vehicle developments, policy frameworks and initiatives affecting the supply chain, and more. With 80,000 sqm of exhibition space across three halls, the show is expected to attract over 1,500 exhibitors, offering a showcase of innovation and collaboration opportunities.

As one of China’s six major automotive manufacturing hubs, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (Jing-Jin-Ji) region provides a strong backdrop for AMR, supported by a comprehensive supply chain and high car ownership ratio. Capitalising on its prime location in Beijing, the show offers an integrated platform for trade, information exchange, industry services and talent development, which empowers industry players to identify emerging opportunities.

New topics and trends empowering progress in the automotive aftermarket
China has led the world in car production and sales for 17 consecutive years[1], with car ownership reaching 476 million as of June 2026, with 48.97 million of them being new energy vehicles (NEVs)[2]. The expanding market scale is placing new demands on the maintenance and repair ecosystem and a shift in the technical requirements needed, leading to a push for talent development and skill upgrades.

To address these changes, the show spotlights the latest developments in digitalisation, intelligent technology, and sustainability, presenting innovative, high demand products and solutions, specifically for NEV maintenance and repair, intelligent diagnostics, digital body and paint repair, and more. In addition, to support the industry’s workforce transition, exhibitors will have opportunities to showcase their products through a variety of fringe events, ranging from skills training sessions, forums and competitions, all aimed to provide momentum for the continuous evolution of the automotive aftermarket.

Amplifying these enhancements, AMR will leverage both online and offline promotional channels to showcase cutting-edge equipment, advanced technologies and innovative solutions throughout the show cycle. By connecting directly with visitors, including workshops, service providers, regional market distributors, and other industry professionals, the platform will boost brand visibility and support the accelerated adoption of new tools and techniques required to meet these shifting technical demands.

Commercial Vehicle and Transport Equipment Zone to highlight upgrades
Driven by carbon reduction initiatives and the rapid adoption of smart logistics technologies, the commercial vehicle industry is undergoing a profound transformation. This has resulted in changes in propulsion methods, rise in demand for parts and components and the emergence of new service models.

China produced 2.272 million and sold 2.297 million commercial vehicles during the first half of 2026, representing year-on-year growth of 8.2 and 8.3 percent respectively. Additionally, new energy commercial vehicle sales reached 54,900 units, an increase of 36.6 percent compared to the same period last year[3]. Propelled by ongoing market dynamics, these figures underscore the nation’s ongoing investment in mobility and highlight the need for efficient, sustainable and intelligent transport equipment, in addition to new demands for parts and components as an uptick of new energy commercial vehicle growth.

Exhibitors from the Parts & Components sector will showcase products for commercial vehicles from the entire value chain, ranging from engines, chassis, body, electrics and electronics, as well as electric control system replacement parts for NEVs.

As such, the Commercial Vehicle and Transport Equipment Zone, which has doubled in scale compared to last year, will emphasise the technological advantage of high-quality commercial vehicles and their role in supporting the development of the logistics industry through a wide range of exhibits. In fact, the entire automotive supply chain is propped by the commercial vehicle industry by the very nature of their role in the logistics, being the vehicle that transports the parts and components to various OEMs, distributors and aftermarket services centres.

This line up of parts and components exhibitors will form a full overview of the latest products and technologies within the sector. These include commercial vehicle, logistics and delivery equipment, bundling apparatus, air-ground hybrid vehicles, driving simulators, vehicle examination and diagnostics equipment, and more.

In addition to the zone’s focus on maintenance practices for commercial vehicles and charging for new energy commercial vehicles, it will also host various fringe events covering key industry trends. Discussions will focus on international market expansion, intelligent traffic infrastructure, air-ground technologies, and more, with insights delivered by OEMs, parts and components suppliers, and logistics service operators. The zone will also host a driving simulation competition that caters to both enthusiasts and professionals by replicating complex road conditions and emergencies, aiming to improve participants’ skills and abilities to handle such situations.

Accessories & Customising highlights to foster exchanges and experiences
A joint policy release issued in June by nine ministries, led by the Ministry of Commerce of China, has introduced key initiatives to boost aftermarket spending and to implement standard frameworks for customisation and modification businesses[4]. This regulatory backing is accelerating consumer demand for interior accessories, car care products, protective films, performance tuning, and external upgrades. Off-roading modifications and functional enhancements are seeing particularly strong growth, driven by Northern China’s winter climate and complex conditions.

For this emerging sector, AMR will further expand its Accessories & Customising exhibits to provide a showcase area that combines business matching and interactive experiences. Notably, a featured zone for modification and culture and trends will offer engaging onsite activities that blend product discovery with cultural experiences. The area will serve as a comprehensive sourcing platform for customisation shops and a strategic hub where domestic and international buyers can connect.

The Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo (AMR) is co-organised by China Automotive Maintenance Equipment Industry Association (CAMEIA), China Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (CAMRA), Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd (Sinomachint). The fair is one of some 40 global events under Messe Frankfurt’s Mobility and Logistics sector.
